Make your EOFY gift count with Red Stitch

At a time when curiosity, open-mindedness and critical thinking matter more than ever, Red Stitch forges pathways for future generations of artists and audiences.

Our philosophy and practice supports artist-led excellence by fostering rigour and attention to detail alongside imagination, grit and creative risk taking.

In the past twelve months, Red Stitch has had a LOT to celebrate.

Our big little company continues to reach new milestones; on stage, across the country, and within our growing community. Here’s just some of what you’ve helped make possible:

– Our first transfer to Sydney Theatre Company with Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, following our first transfer to the Comedy Theatre

– Paying artists above award wages for The Doll Trilogy performance season at Red Stitch, followed by seasons in Hobart and Ballarat

– Two season extensions for The Doll Trilogy due to overwhelming demand

– A 40% increase in box office

– More subscribers than ever before

– Four new works developed and produced through our Ink Program, with four more playwrights commencing development this month.

– A 2026 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Emilie Collyer’s play Super, developed and produced through our INK program

– Supporting 10 emerging artists through our Hansen Graduate Program

– Commissioning and touring On the Ropes by Dan Giovannoni in partnership with Peninsula Community Legal Centre, reaching 3000 high school students across Victoria so far and projected to reach 8000 by the end of 2026.

As we approach the end of the financial year and the end of our Long Live Big Little Theatre campaign, we’re asking for your support.

Philanthropy is central to our future. It allows us to invest in programs that generate sustainable income for artists and the company, while building a Future Fund to secure our long-term stability. Red Stitch has always done a lot with a little - but passion alone isn’t enough to sustain us.

Red Stitch plays a crucial role in developing the voices and ideas that shape the future of Australian theatre. Please consider a gift to help us continue this work into 2027 and beyond.

Over 90% of our revenue is earned income and philanthropy. Each year, over 50% of our annual expenditure goes directly to artists making the work.

Your donation has real, immediate impact.

If you’re in a position to give this EOFY, we would be incredibly grateful.
