Support Crew

Red Stitch has been nurturing Australian actors, directors, designers and technicians since its inception in late 2001.  Run by actors for actors, Red Stitch Actors Theatre has built a reputation as one of Melbourne's leading independent theatre companies by virtue of its sheer work ethic and critically acclaimed productions.  We aim to enrich Australian theatre culture by introducing audiences and industry practitioners alike to hitherto unseen, cutting-edge theatrical writing from around the world.

The company is managed and staffed by a core group of fifteen active ensemble members who are dedicated to developing their craft as actors and theatre makers and to the creation of high calibre productions; raising audience expectations of theatre by championing exciting, truly contemporary work and setting standards of excellence in its performance.

The company depends for its base revenue on subscriptions, box office and sponsorships, as well as generous support from philanthropic groups and a number of individual patrons.
